In-house repair workshops
Some jobs can be done on location. Some can’t, either because the job is too big or more time is required. In that case we take your components back to one of our specialist workshops. Our specialist team works to reduce your downtime to a minimum.
We can work on:
→ Tunnel and azimuth thrusters
→ FPPs and CPPs
→ Propeller shafts and hubs
→ Power packs, OD boxes and couplings
The benefits of in-house repair:
→ Fully equipped mechanical workshops
→ Skilled and experienced technicians
→ Class-approved repairs
→ Full in-house technical support
→ Reversed engineering
→ Non-destructive testing
→ More repair hours available
What about obsolete components?
Don’t worry if you have parts that are obsolete or unavailable. We use the technique of reverse engineering to produce the parts you need. We use a handheld 3D scanner to produce a 3D image of an existing component; then we make new production drawings.
→ Reverse engineer (almost) any component
→ Minimising the delivery time
→ Accuracy of 0.025 mm
Offering a global network
AEGIR-MARINE has a network of twelve offices offering unparalleled service
coverage to ship-owners around the world. We have teams of engineers at every location backed up by one hydraulic workshop (United Arab Emirates) and three dedicated mechanical workshops (The Netherlands, Panama, United Arab Emirates).
Propeller Repairs
A propulsion installation is a delicate and balanced system. That’s why damaged
propellers need a coherent, well-thought-out repair plan (instead of random cropping). Our hydrodynamic engineer will inspect, report and give advice on your propulsion installation. For more specialised support we collaborate with propeller experts Plug en De Boer.
→ Welding, straightening, grinding, polishing and casting
→ Diameter reduction & trailing edge cutting
→ Including hydrodynamic calculations
Controls
With the introduction of modern electronics, propulsion control systems have become more complex. We work closely with our partner company ATLA Propulsion Controls to offer the best possible service of this highly specialised part of marine electronics.
